A Day of Croquet

This past weekend, I made it to Annapolis for the annual Annapolis Cup Croquet Tournament.
For those of you who don't know, every April the Mids play the Johnnies in croquet matches all over St. John's lawns. All the Annapolitans break out their Lilly and bowties and make a day of it.
The Mids always play in their white pants and sweaters, while the Johnnies always surprise the crowd with their outfits. This year, they wore overalls and white jumpsuits.
Buzzfeed did a great post on the 2014 Annapolis Cup.

It's one of my favorite days of the year because it is usually on a beautiful day, so it finally feels like spring. The town comes alive and everyone dresses to the nines.
It's basically the Kentucky Derby of Annapolis.

This year, I chose to wear a Lilly Pulitzer Cathy Shift dress in Southern Charm matched with my Kiel James Patrick pearl necklace and pearl earrings.
I ordered a matching bowtie for my beau from an Etsy shop called Mercy Streams
I have ordered multiple bowties and ties in Lilly Pulitzer Prints from her shop and the service is phenomenal. I would highly recommend her!
Below are some of my favorite pictures from our Day of Croquet:

We had such a great time at croquet and are already counting down the days till Annapolis Cup 2017. Hope to see you there next year!

Koozie Kollection DIY

A couple weeks ago, I found myself drowning in Koozies.
From sporting events, to rep packages, to birthday gifts, I have koozies from every place imaginable.

My roommate Kat found a cute way to display koozies from Pinterest.
We did this Pinterest-worthy DIY project in about 10 minutes (which is the perfect study break).

Supplies:
-Koozies
-Twine/rope
-Painter's tape
-Clothespins

If you're looking for koozies, you can find a ton here
(Use code: MORGAN for 15% off)

Rope or twine can be found at Michaels and any thickness should work.
Make sure you use painter's tape if you live in a dorm! It won't pull the paint off the wall.
We used a white colored painter's tape so that it would blend in with the color of the wall.
Last supply that you need is clothespins! I found mini ones at Michaels.

Steps:

1) Collect Koozies, gather supplies, and lay the Koozies out in the order you want them to be displayed in. We chose to color-coordinate in a rainbow theme.

2) Tape up the twine. Make sure that the twine is taped well on the ends and at several parts throughout the line for support.
This is very important; if it isn't supported well, then it will fall down.

3) Begin hanging Koozies with clothespins. We pinned one side of the koozie to the twine.
Make sure to carefully put them up so you don't pull the twine down!

4) Take pictures!
Upload the pictures in the comments so I can see how cute your koozie kollection DIY turned out!

Prom Picks

Prom is quickly approaching!
One of my favorite things to do in high school was search for the perfect prom dress, so this year I knew I wanted to do a prom dress post so I could 'pretend' I was shopping for a dress.

For the 3 proms I attended, I scoured every single online shop and retail store for dresses.
For sophomore year, I bought mine from a consignment shop.
For junior year, I bought mine in Nordstrom.
For senior year, I bought mine off an Etsy shop based in China and then spent $75 in alterations. Whoops.

If you haven't found your perfect dress yet, here are some of my favorite picks for Prom divided into four categories: Black & White, Glam, Bold & Boho, and Under $75.
All of the dresses posted are under $200.
Scroll through each category to see all of the dresses listed!

Happy Shopping!

Mad about Mint

Recently, I have been obsessing over the color mint green.
I just borrowed some nail polish from one of my best friends that was in this color, and I've been obsessed with it ever since.
After sporting a mint green bathing suit and seeing bright aqua water on Spring Break, I've been inspired by the shades in between mint and aqua and light blue.
I can guarantee you that mint will be in my wardrobe this spring.

Below are some of my favorite outfit pieces in shades of mint and aqua and all the colors in between!

Cherry Blossoms

This Friday was one for the books.
Earlier this week, my best friend Amanda texted me saying she was thinking about visiting for the weekend. Amanda is my go-to photographer and takes the MOST amazing pictures so I knew I wanted to take her to see the Cherry Blossoms.

If you are reading this and live anywhere close to DC, drop everything and Metro to Smithsonian to see the Cherry Blossoms right now. I'm not kidding.
They're in peak bloom and should be for about another week.
Keep in mind that it's very busy, so the earlier you go, the better.

I couldn't recommend it enough; it's the perfect piece for spring.
They have over 100 tunics so there are tons of fun prints for all seasons and occasions.

Below are my pictures from the cherry blossoms.
They turned out antique-looking and super grainy, but I actually love how they look.

Thanks to Amanda for the amazing pictures and Haley and the Hound for the gorgeous tunic.
Have you ever been to the Cherry Blossom Festival?
Did you go this year? Let's chat in the comments below!

Spring has Sprung

IT'S ALMOST SPRING!
And you know what that means....a new wardrobe!

While getting ready for spring break, I was doing some quick shopping and stumbled upon JCrew Factory's Spring Collection. I am in LOVE with it. I think they have some great pieces for the transition from winter into spring.

Here are my favorite spring picks for women and men from JCrew Factory.

For the women:

{Blue and White Top} | Because who doesn't love those colors together??
{White Eyelet Tunic} | The neck detail is adorable
{Chambray Dress} | Dresses are perfect for spring and chambray is so in
{Shoes} | To match your Chambray Dress
{Rope Shorts} | Every boater needs nautical shorts
{Flamingo Sweater} | Too. Cute.
{Pink Chinos} | Chinos are a must

I just bought the blue and white top, the rope shorts, and pink chinos.
I'm in love with every single piece and can't wait for it to warm up so I can wear them!

& For the men:

{Toggle Sweater} | For when it's not warm enough for a tshirt
{Crab Tee} | For spring days when you're picking crabs
{Gramercy Shorts} | For the men who love New England
{Critter Shorts} | Because every man should have a couple Critters
{Lobster Socks} | Need a pair of statement socks for your Sperrys
{Belt} | A printed belt perfect for Khakis

I bought the Crab Tee for myself since I needed a big shirt to go with Norts for the Spring. This sold out last year so quick so I'm happy it was restocked! The men's collection includes a lot of nautical pieces which I love.
I'll be buying it all.

What are your favorite pieces for the Spring?

Hunting for Hunters?

Happy Snow Storm!
Hope everyone is staying warm and safe!
I don't think I could make it through the snow this year without my Hunter Rain Boots.
I got mine for Christmas this year and LOVE them. I couldn't recommend them enough.

If you're looking to score yourself some, here are a couple tips for you.

1 // Check Poshmark, Ebay, or other used clothing retailers.
You can find discounted Hunters in great condition and there's always a wide range of colors.

2 // If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, consider buying Children's sizes.
Kelly in the City has a great Hunter guide and compares adult to child sizing. This will work well if your shoe size is any size under 7.5 for women.

3 // If you're looking for an even cheaper alternative, buy your own plain rain boots and purchase Hunter Boot socks for them. Tons of stores sell plain, solid colored rain boots for inexpensive prices. Target has a super cute pair in lots of colors for only $40.
Then, you can buy Hunter Boot Socks off Zappos or Nordstrom for about $30.
All of the Hunter Boot Socks have the "Hunter" logo on them so by putting them on your regular rain boots, no one will even know that they're not Hunters!
